Yasmine Zekri: Nel mio mondo di fantasia (SA, Piano, Triangle)

Special Prize for Composers Under 30 — “Nuove Musiche dalla Livenza” International Composition Competition 2020

Yasmine Zekri’s Nel mio mondo di fantasia invites young singers into an imaginative world of fairy tales, pirates, fairies, dragons and enchanted forests. Written for two-part children’s choir, piano and triangle, the piece combines a lively, colourful musical character with opportunities for expressive interpretation. In her performance notes, Zekri encourages conductors to vary tempo and dynamics to distinguish the different characters, and to involve the children in shaping their own interpretations. An engaging choice for children’s choirs, school concerts and programmes celebrating imagination and play.
