Vytautas Miškinis: Lavabo (SSAATBB)

Vytautas Miškinis’s Lavabo is a contemporary setting of Psalm 25:6 for seven-part mixed choir a cappella. Unusual changing time signatures, chromatic harmonies and contrasting vocal textures create a distinctive musical flow, moving between restrained passages and powerful climaxes. The Latin text reflects on purity and approaching God with a clear conscience.

A challenging and expressive choice for choirs seeking contemporary sacred music with intricate rhythms and rich vocal writing.
