Piotr Jańczak: Ubi caritas et amor (SATB)

Piotr Jańczak’s Ubi caritas et amor is an expressive setting of the traditional Latin liturgical text for SATB mixed choir. Beginning softly and lyrically, the music gradually develops through contrasting textures, dynamic changes and increasingly expressive vocal writing.

The text focuses on love, unity and the joy of being gathered together in Christ. Jańczak’s setting moves between gentle, intimate passages and more energetic sections, with recurring phrases creating a strong sense of continuity. The work closes with a broad, expressive return to “Ubi caritas et amor”.
