Miklós Csemiczky’s O Beata Virgo Maria is an intimate and prayerful motet setting a Latin Marian text. Beginning quietly and with restraint, the music gradually builds in intensity before returning to a peaceful and delicate close.
Written for unaccompanied mixed choir (SATB), the piece is well suited to sacred and concert programmes, offering choirs a contemporary work with a reflective and expressive character.
