Experience a vibrant and rhythmic reimagining of the traditional Marian antiphon by Emmy Award-winning composer and renowned conductor Michele Josia. This work for equal voices breaks the boundaries of traditional choral performance by incorporating a sophisticated layer of body percussion. The score utilizes a diverse palette of sounds — including hand claps, foot stomps, chest beats, thigh slaps, and finger snapping — to create a modern, high-energy texture that complements the vocal lines.
Drawing on Josia's extensive background in both film scoring and elite choral conducting, this setting of Regina Coeli offers a unique theatricality that is both visually and aurally captivating. It is a brilliant choice for ensembles looking to showcase technical precision and rhythmic drive, providing a fresh, contemporary perspective on sacred Latin text that is guaranteed to leave a lasting impression on any audience.
