Maurizio Santoiemma: Strani e Strambi (Unison, Piano)

Prize-winning piece of the Composition Competition “Nuove Musiche dalla Livenza” 2020

Strani e Strambi is a playful work for primary-school choir and piano, featuring humorous Italian wordplay inspired by familiar children’s games. The text transforms games such as hide-and-seek and tag into amusing, imaginary alternatives. A lively musical character, changing tempos and an energetic piano accompaniment support the playful storytelling. Ideal for school choirs seeking an engaging, accessible piece that encourages children to sing expressively, act out the games and participate creatively.
