Prize-winning piece of the Composition Competition “Nuove Musiche dalla Livenza” 2020
Pinocchietto va al Palazzo by Marina Gavelli is a lively setting of a traditional Italian counting rhyme from Tuscania, written for three-part upper voices and piano. Playful vocal exchanges, energetic rhythms and vivid piano writing bring the folk text to life. Its distinctive character makes it an engaging choice for women’s and children’s or youth choirs looking for repertoire with Italian folk roots and a spirited, theatrical touch.
