József Karai: In dulci jubilo (SSAA)

József Karai’s In dulci jubilo is an arrangement of an old European Christmas carol for SSAA female choir a cappella. Repeated Gloria phrases give the music a lively, festive character, while changing rhythms, dynamic contrasts and layered vocal lines keep the texture engaging. The blend of Latin and German text connects the traditional carol with Karai’s distinctive choral writing.

A lively addition to a female choir’s Christmas repertoire, with opportunities to shape the rhythmic energy and balance of the four vocal parts.
