József Karai: Die kleine Dickmadam (SATB)

József Karai’s Die kleine Dickmadam, subtitled The World’s Shortest Fairy Tales, is a humorous choral piece for SATB mixed choir based on German folk rhymes. Playful rhythms, nonsense syllables, vocal sound effects and contrasting character voices turn these quirky little stories into a lively musical performance. From a train journey to a strange tale involving a rubber dwarf and three witches, the music invites singers to explore comic timing, expressive delivery and theatrical flair.

An entertaining choice for mixed choirs looking to add humour and a touch of theatricality to their concert programme.
