Ivo Antognini’s Ave Maria is an expressive setting of the traditional Latin prayer for SSATTB mixed choir a cappella. The music begins softly and legato, gradually building through richer vocal textures and stronger dynamic contrasts.
The piece combines lyrical, flowing passages with more intense sections, including whispered and spoken elements that add a distinctive character to the setting. The final Amen brings the work to a quiet, restrained conclusion.
A contemporary and expressive choice for mixed choirs looking for distinctive sacred a cappella repertoire.
