A cornerstone of 20th-century Hungarian sacred music, this mass setting for mixed choir and organ elegantly blends the solemnity of the Latin liturgy with the melodic inflections of Hungarian folk tradition. The choral writing is transparent and balanced, supported by an organ part that provides both harmonic stability and structural color. It is a highly respected, liturgically sound work suitable for concert programs.
