Enrico Miaroma: Angelus Domini (SA, organ)

Enrico Miaroma’s Angelus Domini is a concise and expressive sacred work for children’s choir, setting the traditional liturgical text with a clear, flowing musical language. Written for SA children’s choir and organ, the piece opens gently, with the voices entering gradually over a continuously moving organ accompaniment.

The music develops naturally from the restrained opening into increasingly animated and powerful passages. Repeated rhythmic figures in the organ create forward motion, while the vocal lines remain clear and accessible. The Nolite timere section brings a more emphatic character before the work culminates in a bright, energetic Alleluia, building through repetition and dynamics toward a strong final statement.

A well-crafted choice for children’s choirs seeking contemporary sacred repertoire that combines expressive vocal writing, an engaging organ part, and a clear sense of musical progression.
