Colin Mawby’s Vox dilecti mei is an expressive setting of a passage from the Song of Songs, written for SSAA female choir. Flowing vocal lines and lively rhythmic movement bring the biblical imagery to life, while dynamic contrasts shape the music’s progression. The text moves from the arrival of the beloved to the intimate invitation, “Arise, my beloved, and come.”
A distinctive choice for female choirs seeking lyrical sacred repertoire with expressive vocal writing.
