Colin Mawby’s Ad Invocandum Spiritum Sanctum is a reflective setting of a traditional Latin prayer to the Holy Spirit for SATB mixed choir a cappella. The music unfolds with sustained, flowing vocal lines and carefully shaped dynamics, creating a peaceful and contemplative atmosphere.
The setting moves between gentle, intimate passages and fuller moments of expression, with the text’s themes of faith, unity and the invocation of the Holy Spirit at its centre. The work gradually settles into a very quiet, prayerful conclusion.
